According to the latest research from International Data Corporation (IDC), desktops (PCs) may not be dead, but mobile devices (smartphones and tablets) have already taken over the connected digital universe. Here are the relevant percentages of the device marketplace represented by each from IDC (2011 percentages are final; 2015 percentages are projected):

PCs:
2011 - 38.5%
2015 - 28.3%

Tablets:
2011 - 7.5%
2015 - 10.5%

Smartphones:
2011 - 53.9%
