5/23/2011 - Ford expands recall of popular truck
Ford is expanding its recall for the Ford F-150 it initially made in February due to a faulty airbag. Given the model's popularity, the move could affect thousands of motorists nationwide.
Ford has recalled 1.2 million F-150 models due to nearly 100 injuries resulting from air bags deploying accidentally.
Regulators from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration were putting pressure on Ford to expand the recall, as NHTSA statistics indicate many of the injuries were serious.
A former administrator for the NHTSA told the Associated Press that the NHTSA may fine Ford for not recalling more models in February.
For the past 34 years, the Ford F-150 has been America's most sold vehicle. To see if you are affected by this F-150 recall, you can call Ford at 1-888-327-4236.
