2/21/2013 - 10 best cars for winter driving

Certain cars are better than others when it comes to driving in winter.

New-car shoppers always want to buy a car that's safe and can help ensure that their precious cargo will go to and from their destinations without harm or injury. As winter is still expected to last for another month to six weeks in the northeast, Kelley Blue Book has released its list for what it considers to be the best cars for the cold weather months.

Used and new car information firm Kelley Blue Book recently unveiled its selections for the best cars to drive in inclement weather, all of them with 2013 model years. The list includes a variety of segments, such as sedans, SUVs, crossovers and a few sports cars as well.

Jack Nerad, executive director for, noted that this year's selections were also made with the weekend warrior in mind who likes to ski or snowboard.

"Whether your daily commute involves difficult winter-weather driving conditions or you live for weekends on the slopes,'s list of the 10 Best Cars for Winter highlights our picks for the top snow- and ski-ready new-vehicle standouts," said Nerad. "Certainly, the availability of robust all-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive systems is part of the overall equation, but each of the vehicles on our list also possesses a variety of other attributes that make it an excellent choice to negotiate winter weather."

Comprising a few of the 2013 best winter weather vehicles are the Toyota Sienna AWD, Ford Fusion, Subaru Outback Audi Allroad and even the Ferrari FF, which will set buyers back approximately $300,000.
