While a variety of factors influence how much a policyholder pays for auto insurance, a new study from Insure.com indicates that buying a particular type of make and model may lead to significant savings.

According to the source, which surveyed auto insurance rates for 900 vehicles with 2012 model years, the least expensive vehicle to insure is the Toyota Sienna LE minivan. With a four-cylinder engine, the family-oriented vehicle has a national average premium of $1,111 per year.
