10/11/2011 - Consumers to take advantage of year-end sales events
As 2011 draws to a close, many car dealerships will be offering year-end sales events to entice shoppers to buy a new car. And according to a recent poll conducted by Kelley Blue Book, these deals are paying off.
In a new survey, the vehicle valuation company says 62% of car shoppers will be purchasing a car within the next few months, mainly to capitalize on year-end sales events.
"Consumers seem to know what they want … it is just a matter of finding it in the current marketplace," said Camryn Craig, research analyst for Kelley Blue Book's website. "Inventory levels improved in September and are expected to continue improving through the end of the year."
Not only do consumers know when and what vehicle they'll purchase, but they also know how much they're willing to part with to finance a new car. On average, shoppers said they'll pay $28,297, according to Kelley Blue Book's survey.
