7/23/2013 - Highly Rated Insurance Organizations Recognized by A.M. Best

Selective works hard to maintain a high A.M. Best rating.

Being recognized with a high rating by an esteemed agency such as A.M. Best, often tells a story about insurance organizations.

A.M. Best Company is a worldwide leading independent authority in the evaluation of insurance companies' abilities to meet their ongoing insurance policy and contract obligations. Their ratings are based on a comprehensive quantitative and qualitative analysis of a company's balance sheet, strength, operating performance, and business profile.

As agents and consumers scour the marketplace to obtain home, auto and business insurance, they often look for a high rating from A.M. Best to bring peace of mind that the coverage selected is backed by a financially sound insurance carrier.

In a recently published article in Best's Review, insurance companies were acknowledged for having maintained a Best's Financial Strength Rating of "A" or higher for at least 75 years, in spite of the challenging economic times and volatile climate conditions.

Selective is proud to be among those recognized, due to the rating of "A" or higher since 1930. "The most important rating for Selective, from an agent and customer perspective, is our A.M. Best rating, as this is the rating that is most often marketed through the insurance sales process," said Jennifer DiBerardino, senior vice president, Investor Relations and Treasurer. "Selective's longstanding "A" excellent rating is a testament to the financial strength of the organization and helps to assure customers that Selective will be there to honor its financial obligations to policyholders."
