The Momentum Training Program equips participants with the skills and knowledge essential for successful careers in the insurance industry. Through a combination of classroom learning and rotational on-the-job experience, our program cultivates and empowers the next generation of insurance professionals, paving the path for a fulfilling career at Selective.

MOMENTUM TRAINEE PROGRAM CURRICULUM

CORE COMPETENCIES

Through structured coursework and on-the-job application, participants of the Momentum Training Program develop core competencies in areas such as insurance principles, intellectual curiosity and critical thinking.

SPECIALIZED TRACKS

Trainees accept roles in specialized tracks that fast-track them to various career paths in the insurance industry. Examples include commercial and personal lines underwriting, safety management, bonds and premium audit.

HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE

Our program integrates practical, experiential learning experiences by providing opportunities for job shadowing, collaborative work and stretch assignments, fostering a deeper understanding of insurance concepts and practices.

MENTORSHIP & NETWORKING

Selective’s subject matter experts and business leaders come together to offer support through networking events and mentorship opportunities, fostering a sense of community by passing on their wealth of insurance knowledge.

PROGRAM COMPLETION & ADVANCEMENT

Participants showcase their knowledge gained through a capstone project presented to industry stakeholders, demonstrating their readiness for the industry. Successful trainees also benefit from job placement opportunities and gain access to additional leadership programs, ensuring continued momentum within Selective.
