How did you get into your role? Tell us about your career path.
In 1996, a seemingly ordinary job opportunity led me to a life-changing career path. Initially, a friend's invitation drew me to a profession in the insurance industry. I entered the insurance world with little industry knowledge but was determined to grow and excel. That curiosity and grit set the foundation for a fulfilling 27-year and counting career handling workers' compensation claims.
How would you describe your role, and what does a typical day look like?
My role is dynamic and ever-changing. Working as a claims adjuster can be unpredictable. Every day is different. That is the challenge that I enjoy. Successfully managing different situations demands adaptability and resilience, and finding solutions to complex issues and providing excellent customer service excites me.
What is the biggest lesson you've learned about Customer Service?
My primary focus is on providing prompt, professional, and friendly service. Remaining calm and patient is critical, especially when dealing with frustrated, injured workers. I focus on having a pleasant attitude and providing knowledgeable and helpful guidance to claimants, insureds, agents, attorneys, and vendors.
Who or what inspires you to do your best?
Helping others inspires me to do my best. Most of my injured workers have never had a workers' compensation claim before, and I enjoy being able to help them and assure them that we will work together so that they can get back to their livelihood.
How do you like to spend your time outside of work?
I value spending quality time with my friends and family outside of work. I have developed a great group of friends who enjoy exploring the town, hiking in the mountains, day trips, walking, and maybe a new activity, like pickleball!
