Nevada Wildfire Bulletin

On August 26, 2026, the Nevada Division of Insurance issued Bulletin 26‑003 in response to a series of wildfires in northern Nevada — including the Hawk, Bug, Fred Mountain, Stallion, Oxley, and Sombrero fires — and related state of emergency declarations. The Bulletin asks property and casualty insurers to work with policyholders affected by the wildfires by providing added flexibility during recovery.

Issued: August 26, 2026

For policyholders impacted by the wildfires, the Bulletin asks insurers to provide flexibility on the timing of premium payments, offer flexibility for additional living expenses (Coverage D – Loss of Use) related to evacuations, and take post‑wildfire conditions such as burn‑scar flooding risk into consideration in claims coverage decisions.
