Selective dropped me. I have a perfect driving record for 40 years. Have always paid on time. They pulled a ticket I revived in my ex husbands Mercedes in which he had expired tags during our divorce 3 years ago, and dropped me after being the ideal customer for so long. They then charged my account this month anyway, overdrawing it as it’s an account I don’t use often. I was told it was canceled, called the call center to see why $149 came from my account. And was told there was nothing g they could do to cancel. I work with insurance companies and this was the worst experience I’ve ever had. I would I never recommend you to anyone.

I have been trying to get ahold of someone in regards to my claim. I needed to make another claim because as my contractor was doing the work, he noticed that the adjuster failed to calculate any sub floor damages that may have occurred as well as painting. I have been bounced around by at least 3 different people and all three individuals will not answer any of my emails. I am absolutely furious with the lack of communication and customer service your company provides or in this case, lack of. I am in the middle of all the work and had to dismiss my contractor because I can’t get any communication or support from you. My house is completely torn up and still have no response from you.

I called 2/20/21 to schedule a tow. I had to wait 7 hours, which I didn’t mind I was in no hurry. But then I called the tow truck at the time they were suppose to show up and they said nothing was scheduled. So because of their mess up I would have to pay double so I cancelled and it took an additional 2 days for them to “find” someone to tow my car.

It took me a few times to follow up with the office to have many corrections and updates completed to my homeowners and auto policies. We felt our policies were just renewed “as is” every year without reviewing or contacting us for possible changes (new 3 pane windows, new roof, new solid metal security door, etc). Maybe a questionnaire prior to renewal of any changes or upgrades should be in place. We requested copies and quotes but not totally satisfied with the customer service. When your paying over $4000 a year for coverage We expect at least some type of review before the renewal is processed.

I contact you because money was debited from my account that I was not expecting. I contacted my local agent, in a timely fashion to reduce coverage, while I'm currently transitioning with vehicles. Apparently the necessary updates didn't get to you in time to stop the massive payment that was drawn. When I called, the person on the line said there was nothing that could be done to reverse the charges, but the new payment amount will be reflected the following month. That left me in a horrific bind financially and my bank account was over drawn. We are in a global pandemic and people are trying to keep their heads above water. This should never happen and when it does, someone should be able to correct such an error.

It is a long story and emotionally very exhausting. I don't think this box is large enough to explain everything fully. Basically, I receive a cancelation notice in the mail a week after I received an email that my (auto) payment was being processed. Not realizing that of the two credit cards I had on file with Selective that the one involved with fraud would be used. I should have quickly checked. I couldn't remove that card from the list but did name it old card. After I received the letter I proceeded to pay the bill. Later I received another email saying that my bill would be processed. Then later in the mail, on the same day, I received two letters one saying that my policy was back in force and the other saying the my policy was canceled. I assumed that was a mistake. Then still later I received another letter saying that I owed $35.00 and realised I was being charged $25.00 as a returned credit card fee and another $10.00 fee to process. When I called the company I began to explain the problem and was told right away that the company never refunds any fees in relation to a credit card not going through. I was on the phone for quite a while and the operator say she would take my concern to her supervisor and she would call me back. -- I could go on, but I have never missed a payment and I wonder why I would get an email saying my payment was being processed but had to wait for a letter to say my policy was canceled (Yes, the letter is legal) But if an email could come for one it could easily come for the other. But since I didn't have email marked on the website, that was not done. But it was done for the payment being processed. Also, the payment page and the credit cards on file webpage is old. It has not be upgraded as the rest of the site. It is not user friendly in trying to eliminate the old card. Anyway, enough said.

I have been in touch with Palmetto since late December to renew my policy and find out if we can make some savings. I took the under insured motorist from the policy which will save me $ 82 per year. Hannah from Palmetto was very helpful and she said 2 policies will come with incorrect total and to dismiss them. One will come with the correct total. I signed and return the format authorization to take the under insured motorist from the policy and gave my payment by credit card on January the 7th for $ 543.50/per 6 months. All is good, correct? Now I have received 2 notices telling me I have an outstanding balance and I have a cancellation of my policy.!!! I contacted the tel listed and was told to call Palmetto. I spoke with Hannah and she was going to find out the problem. She came back asking me to sign another form that show No Claim on my car. I signed it and sent it back. Also, that I needed to pay the balance of $ 60 some dollars. She was unaware of that extra payment. Hannah text me letting me know that I have to call Selective directly as they needed to speak with me personally. I call Selective but did not write down the name of the person that I spoke with, unfortunately. She proceed to tell me that since my policy was cancelled that we need to start the process all over again and need to sign additional forms, etc, etc. She also needed my voice confirmation that theres was no claim on my car despite the fact that I had already sign the form. I told her that was a mistake on their part, not my mistake and that I was not going to sign one more form. My payment was done including the extra balance!!! all forms have been signed and I wanted my policy in working order. The employee proceeded to tell me that I needed to call Hannah and ask her to send a fax with some information as she could not take the cancellation out on my policy till she received the fax. I told her "you call Hannah and ask her to send you the fax." (this information went back and forth as she was not really accepting the fact that I was not responsible for their mistake and she needed to rectify it, not me doing additional leg work). I told her I am going out in the next 30 minutes and if I get into a car accident, I am going to be quite upset. Also, I added, I may need to include, my daughter, who is an attorney, to speak on my behalf. (the employee insisted that she could not process my policy till she got her fax). She finally agreed to call Hannah and will ask her to speed the fax. I believe this is very poor customer service and to some extent rude behavior on her part. I felt this employee was trying to take advantage of me, perhaps because I am Spanish? I have been in this country since 1962 and having car insurance since I was 21 years old. Please look into my policy and assure me that my policy is in order as I do not want to hear 4 weeks from today that my policy is still cancelled and I driving uninsured. Sincerely, Sonnia Kirayoglu

I have been with Selective for nearly two years. In that time, I have paid all my premiums well before the due date. We had one comprehensive claim, which was an unavoidable incident. During the time of the claim, I went back and forth with Selective to square things away with the claim. In the end, you made things right, but it was not a smooth process. We remained with Selective because you had the best premiums and you did make things right with the claim. I recently purchased a new vehicle and the premium went up nearly $400. I consulted with my insurance agent to find a better premium. She found one with another company but I asked her to see if Selective would match the competitors price, so we could simply remain with you. You claimed you could not match the competitors price, so as of February 1, 2021 we will no longer be utilizing you as our insurance provider. My wife and I have careers (so we have a steady, regular income), we are good drivers, home owners quality customers, and if I had to guess, we would have been a substantial profit for you in the long run, but you were not willing to match a competitors premiums. I just wanted you to know that it is your loss since we are switching to a new insurance provider. I am disappointed that you were not willing to work with our premium, so we could remain a customer. Took 15 min to talk to a representative and then she wouldn't waive a $20 overdraft fee. It wasn't even a bank overdraft it was an outdated credit card so the transaction was declined. $20 for a declined credit card is ridiculous. I didn't pay the outstanding balance and am searching for another company. I pay Selective thousands of dollars every year and to lose a customer over $20 fee is bad business.

I was very satisfied with the service rep whom I spoke with. However, I had first tried to resolve the billing issue myself, first online and then by using your phone payment system. Both places told me my balance due was zero, while in fact I had a cancellation notice because the credit card that was on file for SelectPay had expired. I updated the card information, but the system told me there was nothing due.
